Renter BEWARE!! I would not recommend these apartments to a sewer rat! I had the misfortune of living at Sahara Apartments for the past year. I moved to them from the East Coast. I was mislead as to the location, the size, as well as the condition of these poor excuse for apartments On my day of arrival my renters packet was no where to be found. After a lengthy bit of time it was located. I was then able to proceed with moving in. I was shown where my apartment was and upon entering I was a bit beside myself due to the size of the apartment. That was not disclosed to me, and to Sahara defense I did fail to ensure the size. These holes in the walls are 245 square feet. Thatâs not even enough space for a person to sneeze let alone breathe. To continue on one month into my lease I received an eviction notice stating that I had not paid rent. The problem there is I did pay it, it was paid early with a cashiers check. So my first payment went along with my renters packetâ¦.lost. It was eventually found after I had to return to my bank to try to cancel the cashiers check only to find itâs already been cashed out. Now, if you do not have pets, Sahara Apartments will supply them to you free of charge, be it you want them or not, they are called ROACHES!! Sahara Apartments is infested with them. You certainly can request pest control, however you have to be put on a list for service and that can take in excess of a month. So be prepared for requesting pest control often. Sahara Apartments is located in a very bad part of town. The Homeless are rampant there. They make up their camps on the walls to the apartment, The homeless jump the so called security fence and camp out in the breeze ways of the apartments and Sahara Apartments does nothing about it. Read through the other reviews, people who live in the community and not at Sahara apartments complain about the homeless population here and the fact, yes FACT that Sahara Apartments does NOTHING this problem. They do not do much about anything. As long as they are making âattempts â to rectify a problem they are doing what is required of them to do and the is precisely all they will do. This place does not care one pididle of an ounce about the concerns of the residents. The rent is too high. It is of my opinion that itâs what it is because it is close to UofA which makes the location appealing to college students. The parents of students I can bet would not want their sons and daughters living in or around these conditions. Interesting feature the complex has elevators, youâll be lucky if they are operational half your lease. Seriously RUN do not even waste your time looking at this place. They are not even apartments the Sahara once upon a time was a motel. All you will be renting is a tiny motel room. Motel 6 rooms are larger than the space here. So please heed my advice RUN as fast as you can away from this place. Bottom line itâs NOT SAFE!!!!

I have lived across the street from the Sahara Apartments for many years. With the increase in homeless encampments in the area we have experienced many homeless encampments set up in the right of way around the Sahara Apartments. Those of us that are good neighbors make an effort to report these homeless encampments so the city can address them. My concern is that the Sahara Apartments do not make any effort at reporting these homeless encampments that are facing the many neighbors around the Sahara Apartments to the west, north and south. So we have to do the reporting and many of our neighbors do so. But it is the responsibility of the Sahara Apartments to report trespassers and encampments to the authorities immediately so we do not have to look at the trash, feces and mess created in our shared neighborhood. Since the Sahara Apartments never make any effort to report these unsightly camps it falls to us neighbors. I do not like my friends coming to visit having to view the encampments across the street from my home just because the Sahara does not take any responsibility for the back and sides of their property right of ways/easements. Fortunately for the Sahara Apartments their neighbors, like me, do keep our front yards tidy and our right of ways free from encampments. It would be great if the Sahara Apartments would take responsibility for theirs. I would NOT recommend the Sahara Apartments to anyone for this reason. They do not care about their neighbors and I wonder how they care for their tenants.

I would not recommend this complex to anyone. Besides felix the maintenance man, it seems like everyone who works there is completely checked out from their duties. A tenant died in their apt, and a horrid stench engulved one of the buildings. Tenants repeatedly complained to the management, and the management's only response was if the stench is unbearable call the police. It's the property manager's duty to ensure the complex is inhabitable, it's not the role of the tenants. If the police had to be called to the premises it's the property manager's job to do that. The young college students who live here are horrified en masse, we cannot sleep, and that stench of death will just not go away. Rest in peace to the person who passed away. It's horrific what happened to them, and it's shameful that it took almost a week for the coroners/police to be called.

You cannot ask for a better front office, Ida and Gabby were absolutely amazing at getting me moved into the Sahara in a short period of time. They also give you the rundown of everything you need to know before you move in. No complaints ðð¼
