This was my Preferred place to be when choosing studios in town. Ida sets the tone with ultra-fast responsiveness and prompt to what was needed. Alot of amenities including gated parking new appliances the clubhouse with the pool tables, simply a steal for this price range when considering the competition.

So I’m actually a returning resident! I lived here from Sept 2022-Sept 2023 and I absolutely loved my apartment and the staff. At the time, I moved out, in hopes of finding a larger space as this was the ONLY reason why I didn’t renew my lease then. I have just moved in again as I moved in May 31, 2025 and this is about my third week now as a returning resident. I must say- Ida is truly the best leasing consultant (I would say manager as well since she was actually the manager when I was a resident back in 22-23) as she remembered me instantly even just from the phone call I made back in May asking if there was availability. Just from that alone- how many apartment staff can you say the same of? Zero! She remembered me because she genuinely cares about each and every resident who lives here , past AND present. I have been in the office almost everyday as I just moved in and naturally have been receiving packages as Ida every single day says hello and asks if there’s anything I need or whatever she can do to make my move in a smooth as possible. Each day I encounter Ida, Felix, or John, I am truly thankful that this complex had an apartment available as I feel blessed and genuinely happy that this complex has a wonderful staff who truly wants to see this complex not just full, but full of happy, secure residents! I’ve had a couple of work orders already which isn’t an odd thing as apartment living often comes with that- what is rare however is the amazing immediate attention to the work orders from not just the office staff but maintenance as well. I must stress that the leasing consultant, Ida, and the maintenance team Felix and John were here when I was a resident in 22-23 and are STILL here now that I have moved in again. That shows that this staff CARES about this complex and who lives in it! And I must say, their work ethic and determination to ensure a resident’s comfortable stay is unmatched, and you can take that from someone who has lived in 5+ apartment complexes here in Tucson and can speak to various complexes and how they just don’t match up to Sahara. I want to shout out Felix, the maintenance supervisor for truly going above and beyond with my maintenance orders and fixing the issue less than 24 hours of him being notified of it. He took care to not step on any of my white rugs and was gentle with my surrounding furniture for the maintenance issue he was fixing and ensured to clean up after he was done. It’s the small things that truly make or break a resident’s experience. I also must shout out the residents themselves as I’ve made a couple new friends already! I also had a package that was delivered just on the lawn area and a wonderful resident named Blake actually secured it for me and let me know he had it safe and even helped me take it up to my apartment which was a big lift since it was heavy and I’m on the top floor. You just can’t find good neighbors like that anymore and I’m super thankful for the friends I’ve made so far while living here. I also must stress that this complex has ONLY improved since I’ve returned as this complex is now gated and secured as well as there being a restaurant attached finally :)! Now after what I’ve said so far, you would think I would immediately give 5 stars- my only only thing that made this 4 stars was the lack of the owner’s attention to the fact that it has been SIX days now since the fob system has been down. This has NOTHING to do with the staff- in these past days since residents haven’t had access to amenities or LAUNDRY, the staff has tried to open areas and laundry rooms for residents while we are patiently waiting for the owners of this complex to send someone out to fix this. I want to stress to the OWNERS that this feels incredibly unprofessional and that fob access should be seen as a true emergency. I am anticipating prompt and immediate action from them so this issue is resolved and residents can access not just amenities, but the laundry rooms!! PLEASE fix this SOON!

the first year was a bit rough because of the broken security gates, but after they were fixed, it was a secure and affordable apartment to live. the location is comfortably close to both I10 and in walking distance of both central Tucson and all of University Drive, opening up lots of entertainment and food options! the staff was attentive and always pleasant to deal with. Also, as of this posting, there's a really great Cuban restaurant on the property as well - ideal for late-night snacking!

This place is big. Looking from the outside I would have never guessed how big it was when you walk in. The office staff is so nice. The manager has held the gate open for me, and I watch the office lady always helping with packages. If you need a place to stay this is a great starting point. Look at my view from my back door.

We moved my son in a few weeks ago to attend college in the Tucson area. Ida was so helpful with providing us pictures and other information through email as we live out of state when we were deciding on a place to live. The apartment is just the perfect size for a single occupant and the property is nice, offering several amenities- pool, workout room, ping pong, etc (hopefully the pump at the pool gets fixed soon). After moving my son in we noticed an alarming security/safety issue with the area surrounding the property. We disclosed this information to property management and the issue was quickly resolved. Michelle provided a prompt response and quickly dealt with the problem. My son has been enjoying his time here so far. Thank you Ida and Michelle for valuing your tenant’s safety and security.

I'll start with the cons to look out for but overall i really enjoyed my year long stay. Cons: Laundry rooms are small and a bit pricy. Hallways don't have the best ventilation and if someone nukes it with perfume then you'll be smelling it for a week. Also if you're on the bottom floor you'll probably see a few roaches but the team is very responsive at spraying if you call it in. Pros: The location is very nice. I can bike to the ua campus within 10 minutes and I can walk to the downtown bars in 15. The best thing about this place is the amenities. Beautiful relaxation area by a nice pool with some good shade, a small but good gym, a club room with ping pong and pool table. It all just looks really lovely. Repair team works well and responds fast. Ida is really nice and is super helpful. Also security is pretty heavily enforced and they'll even host classes on it. Overall very chill place with good management!

I spent the last year living here and it was a good experience. Sometimes the students had loud pool parties in the middle of the night, but it wasn't too often. The apartment was comfortable and everything functioned as it should. The amenities are nice, and the location is very convenient to everything downtown and 4th Ave have to offer. It’s a very nice place to live. They respond promptly to maintenance issues, the amenities all work right, etc. The only issue is that the wi-fi sucks. There will be ONE place in your apartment where the wi-fi works, and even then it will be terrible. Don’t do online gaming unless you want to be disappointed.

The whole experience from the moment you walk through the door the 1st time is welcoming and professional. You can tell Ida loves what she does in the leasing office here. She starts you off on the right foot. People are amazed by the grounds and the cleanliness and care taken of this property. It is a great place to live. They’re pet friendly too. Everyday is different but what stays the same is the kindness and respect everyone shows each other here. It starts in the leasing office. They set the tone for all of us. It’s not easy running an apartment complex, the fact that we are encouraged to leave a review or 2 or 3 shows the transparency of, and the dedication to, the property by management. Ida is definitely committed. Every one respects her and Allyah too! I want to say thank you for our maintenance man Felix. He definitely has skills and a work ethic. He knows what he’s doing. He’s professional and he has a great personality. We’re fortunate to have him. Don’t let him go!! All apartment complexes have to be maintained to run efficiently and for the residents to be happy in their homes. Everyone is! I like that the complex is gated. Maintenance came very soon after we notified them. Ida and Allyiha are very helpful and friendly. Not charging to use the washer and dryer is also a plus. The decks are nice and the pool is an added bonus. The rooms are quiet. I recommend Saraha Apartments.

while my move-in process was a mess, I truly think it was worth it! I do enjoy MOST of what these apartments have to offer, but I do have a few suggestions coming from a few renters here: 1. The valet trash service has yet to take effect, although we are charged every month for this service. 2. We do not have 24/7 access to all of our amenities. 3. I personally and currently have furniture sitting on my patio (I didn’t want furnishings and my apartment came with a desk, which I was instructed to put on my patio until maintenance came to remove) for OVER A MONTH waiting for it to be removed!! 4. My friend lives here and it’s overall a quite pleasant place to live. The only concern I have is the maintenance on the amenities, especially the pool. We would love to use it more if it was maintained better. I think if they kept up the upkeep it would improve the quality of life and make it a better place overall. It would also be great if the amenities were open beyond just the regular work week.

Lived here for a year and a half. Ida the Property Manager is excellent. Apartments are nicely done, includes a built in microwave and very quiet due to the brick wall construction, cannot hear your neighbor at all. You will love the floors, beautiful and easy to keep clean. There are package lockers for deliveries and the location is convenient. Served my needs for the time I was here. A suggestion would be to choose the location of your apartment in the complex based on what is important to you i.e. Apartments on the top floors do have great views and more privacy.

This is such a cute place to live! Staff are super friendly and helpful! The website could be updated as far as listing apartments as furnished (my only had a twin bed frame upon move in). Amenities are great and it would be nice if hours were extended to 24hr. Complex is safe and I’m excited to use the pool once it gets fixed.

I have been living in this apartment for seven years, since 2015. And I came here for UA. The apartment was remodeled very well. Also, the maintenance service is excellent. But, here are my comments about the belly trash can services; I know it would be convenient and significant for some people. If the services can be set up as an option, which means who needs the service then pays for $25 each month, that would be awesome. Also, if the grocery delivery staff could have the access code of the front door, it would be more convenient for the renters. Overall, I like this apartment. Have a strong feeling about it, especially in these seven years.

We really don't have a problem here with the homeless because we have security and there are walls surrounding the property. I have called security about homeless people here on the property but often by the time security showed up they were gone. At that time I thought the security was here on the property 24/7 and that they worked for Sahara Apartments exclusively. A man came up the stairs to where I was standing. It scared me. I asked if he lived here he said no. I told him he couldn't be here to leave. Then we heard keys jangling and he said " I'm doordash". I said what apartment number? He said, 3410. I told him to go through the glass doors and turn left. He took off. A few seconds later, here comes security up the stairs and asks where that guy went. I said he's doordash, he went that way. Security said "he's not doordash. I've been following him". Scared me half to death. The security guard proceeded to tell me all about the job he does. Blaming Sahara Apartments for the homeless people coming thru the gates and said he was only paid to come here 3 times a night. He said if Sahara Apartments paid more then he would come more. Security called my home at 1030pm one night and asked me to come down to the pool. They wanted me to identify someone that said they lived here. I was glad to help. The same security guard told me I needed to quit making false reports a few nights ago. I have never done that. I think he was showing off in front of his manager which he brought with him. He was aggressive and rude. I called security because 3 men and 2 women were in our jacuzzi with clothes on. Obviously they didn't live here. But they lied to the security and he then turned his aggression on me. If security had names and apartment numbers then they could verify if someone lives here. After security left my chest hurt. I was right about calling Saturday night The jacuzzi was filthy when they left and stayed locked Sunday. Thanks to Felix for coming in and cleaning up the mess. Still love it here. I'm blessed to be here.❤Thank you ❤️

Great value, kind and helpful management I’m a new tenant and I firstly want to recognize Larissa. She has been so kind and super helpful every step of the way and during these high stress times (moving in and of itself is very stressful obviously, but add a global pandemic and all the other happenings going on right now to the mix, and it can feel like you’re losing your mind some days during moving) that sort of understanding is not only appreciated, it also stands out and shines. As for the apartment itself, I am in a renovated unit and I am beyond impressed at what you get for the value. The floors, the new appliances, the noise reducing brick walls, all of that adds up to feeling like you’re getting a steal on the prices here!

I stayed in a studio at Sahara Apartments. The location is perfect: 10-minute walk from downtown and 23-minute walk from the university. They have a shuttle to the university every half hour and it is round the corner from Pima Community College Downtown Campus. The staff are very helpful, they do their best to solve your problem. There used to be an internet problem, but they solved it before summer 2018. There is a pool and a hot tub around which you can hang out with friends! I miss Sahara!

Great apartment for students. The apartment is QUIET. I have lived here for 4 years, and not a single party which is great for students who want to study in peace. Maintenance is responsive and you get a good deal for the price. Staff is also wonderful. Internet has gotten good here too. Also, you don't hear neighbors and upstairs noise. Someone would need to be screaming to hear anything.

I lived in this apartment complex for a year from 2015 to 2016, and I gotta say this is a perfect place for a student. They have buses to take to you to school every 30 min, and there are grocery shuttles on every weekday. In case you miss the bus, you can just walk to school (to U of A it's about 20-25 min walk). I did quite a bit of research before deciding what apartment to stay in, and this is probably the place that you can get everything you need as a student for the lowest price.

I loved the no noise policy. Not once was I woken up in the middle of the night by those noisy neighbors you get in regular apartments. The apartments are gated so I didn't have to worry about the safety of my car at night. The staff are very nice and courteous and will keep you updated when you need a repair done. They usually get to the repairs very quickly. I liked the fact that every floor had its own washer and dryer making it very convenient and they're way cheaper than any laundromat. The shuttle was great for when my car broke down so I didn't have to walk to school in the mornings super early, so not a morning person. I think this apartments are great for the price they're at, especially considering that all the amenities are included into it.

Last year I lived for four months in Sahara Apartments and I was surprised by all the services are there in their facilities, like laundry, gym and shuttle to the University and the grocery, the apartments are well furnished and are comfortable, plus the atmosphere is very quiet, suitable for studying. I spent good times in the game room, theater and the pool, the staff are very nice and helpful, and the cultural diversity in the Sahara Apartments enriched me personally. I stayed at Sahara Apartments for one semester. They were the only ones who offered an option for leasing less than a year. The place is pretty good if you're studying at UoA, as it is very near. I mostly traveled by bike, which the staff lent me, only asking for a security deposit which they returned to me after returning the bike. The staff was very courteous to me and assisted me whenever I had any issues. My room had everything I needed to live there, with my only complaint being that the showering was a battle for getting the right water temperature. The internet connection was great. There are laundry rooms on every floor, so there is no need to go somewhere else to wash your clothes. Probably one of the best parts was the grocery shuttle service which allowed me to easily do grocery shopping, and also takes you to UoA. Overall, while the place may look a little bit old, it's a really good place to live if you're studying near UoA.

These apartments are extremely affordable and the staff was amazing helpful. Simply submit a ticket or just walk down to the main office if it is urgent and help will come immediately. There was little to no noise from the neighbors either. Compared to all the other places I've lived at, this one has felt the safest and I would strongly recommend anyone to make these there #1 choice. Distance from the university isn't an issue as shuttles are provided, shuttles even do trips for grocery shopping.

I stayed at Sahara from August 2014 to May 2015. Overall, I think Sahara is a good place for those who want to concentrate on studying quietly, especially for international students. Although, I reported a noise problem a few times from my neighbors, the staff gently dealt with that. They are pretty friendly and are like a big family so that you never feel lonely staying there. Although, shopping malls are far from Sahara( which is often the case with Tucson), they have shuttle services for shopping malls and supermarkets everyday(when I was there). Regarding safety, no need to worry about a stranger breaking into the apartments, for you need the key to get in Sahara, and there are cameras at work in the premise of Sahara. In the lounge, they have a piing-pong table,a pool, an air hockey, and some others. Also, Sahara is equipped with a theater room where you can watch TV programs and movies, and play video games as well. I highly recommend Sahara especially for international students, for there are many people at Sahara who study English at CESL so it is easier to make friends. If I have chance to go to Tucson again, I will definitely stay at Sahara again.

They are certainly sprucing up the place as of 2015, and by now, it looks rather pleasant. Their work with the refugee program is pretty admirable as well. It is much cheaper than the cheapest dorm alternative on campus, and their shuttle service ensures that you are never stranded from the classes you need to be at.

I stayed at Sahara Apartments for roughly two years and was very impressed with their rates, safety, and amenities. While the buildings are older, the staff were very helpful with fixing anything that needed repairs. The shuttle service is generally reliable and helpful. I was also impressed with the no party policy and any noise or other complaints were addressed quickly. A great value. The neighborhood isnt the best for walking at night but the property is gated.

It was my the most satisfying stay at Sahara Apartments for almost a year. I have traveled to many countries and rented several apartments in the past, but my stay at Sahara Apartments was the best and most peaceful so far. My warmest appreciation to Ted Mehr, Owner of the Sahara Apartments, for facilitating my stay. Ted is extremely reliable and helpful in providing me a place to stay. After staying for 5 months in the Apartment No 1204, I travel back home due to some visa issues. I was not sure whether I will get the same apartment once I came back to the U of A, Tucson. But he assured he will try his best to provide the same apartment or arrange for my stay at the Sahara. I am pleased to write that he kept his words and I stayed another 6 months in the same apartments. He is very friendly in nature and the kindness he has shown to me is unforgettable. Thank you very much Ted, I really appreciate that. I preferred to stay here because of the few amenities such as fully furnished studio with in-house laundry facility, free internet, TV and shuttle services to U of A campus and grocery shopping. However, for me the most important feature was security. I liked the fact that the place is very much secured with community locked gates and security cameras. The place is very peaceful and I feel is the best for place students and visiting faculty like me. The office employees were very co-operative and they make me feel at home. They were always there to make my stay pleasant. The services they render to me was highly appreciable. The shuttle service was on time and not even single day the shuttle to the campus was delayed or unavailable. The grocery and mall shuttle services were very much necessary for me because bringing weekly groceries and bottles of drinking water would have been very challenging by public transport. The place is very near to downtown and several restaurants. Besides, the place is well connected by the public transport. I will highly recommend this place to stay in Tucson. Sahara apartments is a very good place to live and study. The place is quite and it's near to University and Downtown. I really enjoyed to live there. All the staff were very nice and all the time are trying to help you and make easier your time there. It's not a place for parties, but trust me, you can get friends there who can hung up with you around 4th Av or downtown and come back walking.

Best owner ever! Mr. Ted, the owner is an extremely nice person who just help me to find a place to stay and figure out the way to settle all the things with passion. Although finally I find a place to stay with my friend (I'm an short term exchange student), it's still a good option for the one who are looking for a cozy place to stay! With the pool, gym room, game room, small theatre and even the bike renting, it should be one of the best apartment which is extremely close with the UA! 10/10👍🏻

I am good with place! It's quiet, and many things are getting better. There is some great people in the office that treats me and some of my friends more than just a tenants. Well, as a student I don't expect too much here. They have a good shuttle service, the university is just about 25 from here, it's not a big deal to walk there (except in the Summer). The place is good and it's actually getting better.

I was in Sahara for 3 months and in couple of days I am leaving Tucson. I was doing my internship program in UA. Honestly I was supper lucky that heard about here. Sahara's staffs are super friendly and welcoming. The management, Mr. Ted, is such a respectful person. In Sahara you dnt need to be worry about utilities, transportation, safety and many other things! As a student, if you are looking for a safe, calm, and comfortable place I profoundly suggest Sahara!

I have lived here at Sahara Apartments for about two years now going on three. Here is what I can honestly say about Sahara Apartments. For me, I live here in Arizona and as a student who lives in the town all year I must say that the most important factor for me is connection. If I live here and cannot make this place my home I will surely think that the place I live in is intrusive to the good that I am looking for, that we are all looking for. I think that it is a matter of perception. If one makes Sahara their home or home away from home then they can find life here, but if they cannot focus themselves on this then they will not. The landlord, Ted Mehr, is a good man. He listens and does his best to accommodate whatever questions, concerns, and comments one may have in a positive way. The staff are very well picked and they do well to be friends to those who live here, and for me they are part of the reason why I have been able to make Sahara my home. Many student housing apartment complexes are places where students find themselves partying. This is not one of those places. We all thrive in the quiet that one will find at Sahara. Do not think that this apartment complex is perfect because it isn't, and there are things that you will find blemish in when you live here.Ted and his staff are human and if there is something that you may dislike it may take time before it is fixed, but you can be sure that if you are understanding, patient, and you come and voice your concerns respectfully then you will obtain what you need.

I have lived at Sahara Apartments for a couple years and overall the experience was quite good. The studio rooms are adequately furnished and have everything a student would require for a very reasonable price (utilities included). Moreover, the university campus, fourth avenue, and downtown are all within walking distance, which allow students to connect to local resources. The staff is also very friendly and focused on giving you the best experience possible. I would seriously consider living here again, and I encourage you to inquire about your living situation with the manager/owner.

Great place to live that is in between two main colleges (Pima Community College and the University of Arizona). This place gives a free bike with a cheap cost of a deposit (huge advantage!) and it is very convenient to use a bike in this area. Great place for students!

I stayed at the Sahara for 6 weeks. The day I arrived they gave me the wrong room, with no sheets, no nothing inside, so it was a bad first impression. But. The next day day the corrected the mistake and relocated me to my normal room. From there on it was very smooth. Air conditioning worked perfect, TV had HBO, and I felt secure the whole time. Staff was friendly and fixed all problems that came up, mainly wifi related things. They have a shuttle that brings you to the UofA and grocery stores etc. This was a great service. Driver was friendly and picked me up when he saw me on the street walking. I even approve of the music in the shuttle :P I saw 1 cockroach in my whole stay. I did not even bother to report anything. In general the whole complex seems very clean but not to the point of luxurious. Pricing is fair. Can be very cheap if you have a roommate. Washing machines are in good condition and cheap. Very quit place, perfect to stay for a few weeks, if not more. There was a pool, but i never used it. It seemed ok. The neighborhood can be bad if you venture too far west, but along Stone Ave. it ok and you are very close to the University of Arizona, 20min walking distance in a well lit and busy street (Stone and University). Very good bang for the buck. I recommend it.
